FEATURED
Islands, Islands, Islands – 3 August 2012

In November each year Bridgetown, Western Australia hosts the ‘The Blues Festival’ when about 20,000 people descend on this little country town to hear music in plenty and have fun up and down the main street which is closed to traffic for all the market stalls. As I was walking along the Blackwood river and approached the river car park I was absolutely gobsmacked to see this colourful mobile home. It was the most extraordinary home on wheels I’d ever come across and the most fascinating. I went back to get some shots and spoke to the 60 year old owner who put the home together. He lives in it permanently, travelling between Broome and Denmark, selling plants at markets. He is all about nature and so is this home. The doors and windows have been collected on his travels and the inside of the home is something else again.

Thank you for looking at my work. I use a Canon 450D and 7D with Canon and Tamron lenses. Some of my work is manipulated in software, often using textures and sometimes blending with 2 or more images.

Great work Elaine. From the titles it seems like you are building a set to go with the Adams Family theme song. Tony

  • LOL! I don’t know what the next line is Tony.

They do what they wanna do, say what they wanna say, live how they wanna live, play how they wanna play, dance how they wanna dance, kick and they slap a friend, Addams Family

  • LOL! Well thanks Tony, but I think I might have a problem getting a photo of slapping a friend.
