In November is the event of the year in Bridgetown, Western Australia – it’s ‘The Blues’ when about 20,000 people descend on this little country town to hear music in plenty and have fun up and down the main street which is closed to traffic for all the market stalls. As I was walking this morning along the Blackwood river and approached the river car park I was absolutely gobsmacked to see this colourful mobile home. It was the most extraordinary home on wheels I’d ever come across and the most fascinating. I went back to get some shots and spoke to the 60 year old owner who put the home together. He lives in it permanently, travelling between Broome and Denmark, selling plants at markets. He is all about nature and so is this home. The doors and windows have been collected on his travels and the inside of the home is something else again.

Fabulous shot Elaine – I’m sure I’ve seen this around Denmark at times :))

  • I’m sure you have Penny and guess what – the owner is going to build a straw bale house in Denmark as a permanent home and bits of this truck will be in it – you won’t be able to miss the owner either. LOL!

Great pic Elaine, sounds like fun.

  • The owner thought it was great fun and was a great philosopher too which brought the song ‘Live how you wanna live’ to my mind, hence the title.
