Canon 450D, 18-55mm lens
Taken in my garden in Bridgetown, Western Australia. The sasanqua camellias are one of the first camellia varieties to flower in autumn and the tree has been smothered in blooms for at least the last month. I have had several attempts at photographing this camellia tree in its entirety, but it’s in a rather shady spot. I took 3 bracketed exposures of this branch reaching for the sky and processed them in Photomatix.

This is so delicate, it could almost be a water painting

  • Oh how I wish I could paint like that Kala, but I am not gifted in that area. Your compliment is much appreciated – I am very pleased you think it could almost be a water painting.
