Reminds me of the film The Railway Children… can just imagine the steam engine coming into site…. great image Elaine xx
Elaine Teague replied
It would have been a steam engine too I think when this railway line last had a train on it. Thanks for the comment Sue.

I love these old railway tracks. The one at Pemberton is another that I enjoy photographing and the history of what is now the Tramway through the forest is incredibly interesting. I imagine that line links up with this one. I know when we used to stay in the Warren Way Caravan park just your side of Manjimup there seemed to be a constant procession of trains loaded with wood chips going past, day and night. They would have gone through Bridgetown and out the other side on this track wouldn’t they? Did I read somewhere once that that has been discontinued?
Elaine Teague replied
That’s right Peter. No more log carrying on the trains and no more trains. We now have heavy trucks carrying the logs through the main street. The heavy vehicle road diversion that was presented to Council got knocked back in a referendum.
