So Many Ways to Die
So Many Ways to Die belongs to the following groups:
All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical and Melbourne & VictoriaI’m dying a suffocating death
Not a sweet, delirious asphyxiation, but a drawn-out, cloying, greyness snuffing death
I’m dying a thousand sharp deaths
Bleeding from wounds I never knew I had; wounds creating more wounds. Spirals, sides without ends, a Möbius Strip of deaths
I’m dying a fighting death
Defiant to my end, brash and bold, in-your-face-fuck-you death
I’m dying a sympathetic, symbiotic, synergistic death
At one with everything, everyone, roiling, sea-sick, harmoniously echoing like a barbershop suicide-cult humming a dirge with outstretched neck and gulping air
I’m dying a running death
Fleeting, fleeing, twisting the turns, slipping the nooses, skidding along the icy edges and the gritted, brittle teeth
I’m dying a searching death
Eternally seeking the popular mirage, the slippery eel of ideal, the One Tree that everyone knows, but no one finds
I’m dying the frantic death
Of filling and fulfilling, of catching up, topping up, cramming everything like an insatiable knowledge-beast, with swollen belly and exploding, overloaded brain
I’m dying a benevolent death
One of magnanimous gifting, of bestowing and pleasuring, of sanctimonious offerings to hordes of silent, blind and gaping eyes
I’m dying the confused death
The misunderstood angst of other-worldliness, of self-righteous bewilderment, of fast-talking, meaningless drivel and questioning quirky smiles
I’m dying the common death
The recognition of mortality, the acceptance of What IS, the dim yet shining light of discovery, emptiness; the acknowledgment of humanity, fallibility, and imperfection
I’m dying the lonely death
The drip of the tap at night, the self-conscious step off the train, the halting laugh, the sound of a closing door, the daily routine and the dizzying spin of the playground round-a-bout
So many deaths
So many ways to die

Death explained in so many ways….. this was so interesting. Mortality is something people may like to avoid by not talking about it…...here it is unwrapped and wacked on the table right next to the salt and pepper shakers. Very Looking in and through the insides of this matter. Cheers

Breathtaking and oddly empowering I think.
Very well written as well.

Hey Mark, if you manage to experience any of these and
live through them
