There was a star
I saw when young
Mystic magic hole in Heaven
Following, watching, comforting presence

I forgot my star
Wandering, randomly careening
Pressing forward powerfully and reckless
..yet feckless, losing direction and eventually, momentum

Now swirling, dizzyingly
I struggle to see through the clouds
Through the haze of wishes and emotions
Missing my star

Your writing holds so much emotion. This sounds so sad. I hope you find your star again Mark.

You need to get back there, my friend. Look to Heaven, it’s still there.

    Very nicely written.

A truly delightful poem Mark, sad but sort of explains travelling through life and its journeys doesn’t it. Reminds me of that song I used to love as a teenager, with a line that says I’ve looked at clouds from both sides now, from up and down and still somehow, it’s clouds illusions I recall, I really don’t know clouds at all.....sad but nice….love this one.
