I knocked, and he opened.

“I’m ready”, I said
“Not yet, no”

“I’m done. I’m finished. I’ve seen it, felt it, loved it, lost it, hurt it, won it, masked it, grown it, killed it, wished it, fixed it, destroyed it, learned it, tried it, pushed it, stretched it, hid from it, found it, hugged it, understood it and confused it. I’ve beaten it, created it, empowered it, twisted it, explored it, eaten it and tasted it, yearned for it and forgotten it.”

“No, not yet”
He began closing the door.
I placed my foot in the jam and a palm against the wood.
“But…what more do you want from me? Who knows me more than I?
You? You know nothing about me. I’ve been here many times, and it’s always the same answer!” Anger

“I know you’re not ready”

“You realise I can get in through the back door?” I said slyly.
“It’s locked”
“Perhaps, but I have that key”, I chuckled, and walked away.
