You firmly believe it’s your given right, striding through your blessed life bestowing garnishes, and feeling fat.
So you think you know? You feel you have it all down pat? You have the number, done the time, been there and done all that? An ‘artiste’, they call you. A ‘visionary’, even. Your so-called friends reverent, subservient, grovelling before you like starved, gaunt hounds begging for scraps from your brimming well of accomplishments. I’d like to vomit all over your obscene plastic grin.
So you’ve felt a little pain? Depression been getting you down? Worried about your next sale? You piece of self-loving shit. Allow me to teach you the facts of life, little pretty. Your insignificance is blinding. The pedestal you stand on is washed with your embarrassed parents’ tears. Your ivory tower is made from self-delusional, diseased fabrications. You dowse your weaknesses and failings with the shame of others, building your reputation on the torn remains of those that loved you. The only ones that ever loved you.
Now you stand here, that charming little side-grin on your mouth. You stand here and ask me for forgiveness. Well I have some news for you, my lovely. I’m all out of forgiveness today. Today we have loathing and vengeance on the menu. Today, the clock stops and the dials turn to eleven. Because today, we will be making it all ‘ok’ again. We will be balancing the books.
And you can call to your skies – but they aren’t going to answer…
