Mark, I like the comp and the movement. Monotone suits this. Lovely capture!

A breath taking composition; I particularly love the symmetry between the opening wings of the seagull and the waters transition from tumultuous to calm…or perhaps the water is moving from calm to tumultuous and the gull is fleeing to safety.
PS – the duck seems to be riding out whatever might come….

hi mark -this is a cool shot! reminds me of a pigeon i rescued from the river cam in summer…it was a baby and was roosting on the rafters underneath the bridge above, and fell into the water below…quite a drop, and was struggling to make its way to the shore. when i spotted it, it looked very very tired and battling, i then leaned into the water and managed to pull up to the shore, brought it home, wrpped it up and fed it water with a teaspoon until the emergency r.s.p.c.a. came to collect it and take it to an animal hospital in norfolk. it was a feral pigeon, and would not have survived the ordeal and certainly swimming is not somthing pigeons do. was so glad that it got a chance to ‘take another flight’ – and your shot here reminds me of that!
