Silence Lane

Silence Lane
I love cemeteries.
For some people, cemeteries are places of dread. For me, they are places of wonderful quiet and peace. A place of resting, whatever your religion, if any. Memories wrapped in stone and tree shadows. A place to reflect, and wonder about life. Perhaps our lives are just perfect – loved ones all around, financial independence; maybe fame and fortune.
In the end, we all wind up here.

One life, one chance to feel good about it.

My rules for photography and art are very simple – I like it, or I don’t…

Thanks for visiting my folio :)

man Im getting worried about you trawling these grave yards. Beautiful image here. Sharp as a pin. Did you do anything here? The sky looks like it has been dropped in later? Good use of ambient light ?

I happen to love this shot also, for the same reasons as many of you have mentioned. Hope that doesn’t sound vain – we are allowed to love our own shots sometimes, right?

    Cemeteries are fascinating places!
and you have captured this one with skill and
an eye for beauty. I don’t think anything at all
about someone ‘haunting’ a graveyard for
good shots, plus some of the words on the
tombstones provide much fodder for novels.

Subject matter a big favourite of mine. Perfect balance with pure blacks and whites yet so much detail preserved in the mid-tones. What format did you use?

Wow… so little adjustment, I really admire that, I get so over all the pieces that are 100 generations away from the original, not that it really matters to create that way, but it is refreshing to see a piece thats concieved and lives as it was born…this is just a truly magnificent composition, the tones, the light, love the tree framing the whole piece, a bit Tim Burton…where is this graveyard? I love them, especially the country ones…

An amazing shot – the detail throughout is astounding. The lighting is so peaceful on the stones, even the shadows seems quite soft, but the bark of the tree looks so rough, solid and final.
