This is one of my personal favourites. I’m not a religious kinda guy at all, but I like iconic things (as you may be able to tell from my work). I saw this and immediately thought – ‘the mighty has fallen’. The sky was just perfect – I was lucky. And the lighting was exactly as I would have it if I had planned it.

mark this is beautiful – wonderful backdrop colours and the main image is great – i don’t ever want to know what it was like with a head – would ruin the feeling. Once again – ace!

What are the odds. Of all the statues in all the cemetaries I know exactly where this one is. St Kilda Cemetary off Dandenong Rd. I was there taking photo’s once and I guess that headless statue just stuck in my mind.

Mark I love this shot but what is the angel holding? The sky is gorgeous. Wonder if the head was missing or was it by intention? The angle of the shot is perfect and cropping is right on. Love this shot.

Oh, yeah. There seems to be a few shots around with rich sky, delicate clouds and high-contrast structure in the foreground. This is a great example of why the formula works so well.

DRAMATIC….its seams almost sinful to have caught such a great shot!...very controversial with the religion…not that i am religious or anything…its just a beheaded angel…this piece is smart on so many levels..by taking a picture of it, from the angle you did…facing the sky, defends the angel who can’t see it herself…like I said…DRAMATIC!!!
