Just had the worst online shopping experience of my life with this site. My advice would be steer well clear!
I ordered my new camera when site said “In stock”. Received confirmation that my order would be shipped and delivered within 2-3 days.
So, when 2-3 days were up, payment had been taken from my account and my order still showed as “processing” I dropped them a friendly bubblemail asking if there was a problem.
I received a general email saying they had gone out of stock and the order would be processed as soon as possible.
Fair enough but why take payment if there was no stock to send…..
So, I waited another week and receved no further info/update.
Dropped them another friendly mail to ask on an update in stock status as I still had heard nothing from them – beginning to worry a little about the fact a substantial sum had been removed from my account and I still have nothing to show for it.
I asked specific questions in this email and received a generated reply which addressed none of them.
So, on to the phone to talk to Customer Services…..
the operator I spoke to was rude, abrupt and just repeated the same speil I receved in the initial two emails! So, 2 weeks, 2 emails and phonecall later I am still none the wiser as to where my money is or when to expect my camera!!!
Since writing the initial part of this journal, I have cancelled the order and plan to order from warehouseexpress.com, when I receive my money from purelygadgets….. Let’s hope they have better policies….
The update is here

Far out, that’s bad – I was wondering what was happening with your camera… Now we know. Hope it all resolves quickly for you.

I’m not saying they are like this all the time, but this being my first experience buying from them, it has certainly put me off!
I think it’s the fact the took hundreds of pounds from my account when they didn’t have the stock to send that’s annoying me most….

Debz if you have paid by credit card, talk to your bank or CCC and ask them to do a chargeback ~ that way the money is taken away from the purelygadgets people and you don’t lose out

Thanks for the warning Debz. Hope you get it though.

Like all online retailers, they should only debit your card on despatch of the item.
Worth reporting I think.

Thanks for the advice – I have used warehouse express several times and you shouldn’t have any problem with them

Yea i bought my Canon 400d kit from warehouseexpress, and found them extremely helpful and really speedy delivery. The ONLY problem i had was that the courier company they use would only deliver 9-5 and it needed to be signed for. Well most of us work between 9 and 5 so it was a bit of a nightmare as i had to go and collect it myself at Aldergrove airport (Thats where there depot is). After all the hassle i hope you enjoy ur new purchase. x Baz

UPDATE!!!
Just received the new camera – less than 24hours since placing the order with Warehouse Express. (Had a day off work today so the signed for thing wasn’t an issue this time….) Fantastic! Just waiting (impatiently) on the battery to charge so I can play with my new toy!!!
