Historic Abercrombie House in Bathurst NSW was built c1870 for James Stewart, one of the early pioneers of Bathurst. The house took 8 years to build is 210 squares in area and boasts 30 fireplaces, 7 staircases and 52 rooms. The Ballroom features an 8.6metre gold leaf ceiling.
Abercrombie House is Gothic/scottish Baronial architecture.
In 1969, the house was purchased by Rex Morgan AM MBE and the Morgan family has made it not only their home, but also their lifes work to restore the home.
Rex Morgan, an Educator has travelled the world, particular Asia and collected many artefacts, antiquities and works of art which are on display throughout the house.
