Oh how scary! And how sad! I’m glad your okay!
The devestation in the town of Hackleburg is unreal. It wiped out most of the town. Out of 32 businesses only 1 is left standing. On the news this morning they said that in Tuscaloosa 7,000 homes were damaged and 2,300 of those were destroyed. The tornado through there was about a mile wide.
Amazing! This house looks like it was made from thin wood!!! I guess the tornado sucked out the linings?
It may have possibly been a mobile (modular) home but I am not sure. The storms that came through the state were so bad that even brick buildings were torn apart. There were stories in some area of people even being sucked out of the basements or storm shelters. It is going to take years for these areas of the state to recover. The outpouring of help that has been seen has really been amazing. People from all over are donating supplies and money. Even Japan with all that they are going through donated blankets and tarps to cover the damaged houses that might be able to be repaired.
