This is dead cool. Great shot.
Excellent HDR! A CH47 Skycrane Heavy Haul. My beloved brother was crew chief on one of these ships in Vietnam 1970-71 Would love to know the ship number as he may have worked on this. What a great conversion from a wartime life saver to a peace time one. A beautiful image with a great perspective! Hats off to you Dean!
Thanks Rob! I have a whole series of images from the day if you are interested in a few more.

Heck ya I would like to see a few more. And I was wrong I believe this is CH54!
I’ve been on the receiving end of one of these a few times!! It may be annoying to be hit by the drop, but we never mind having them around. When you hear that deep note of the bit rotor you know that help from above is never far away.
i must say i love this picture……in all the times i had been away fire fighting i have never seen one of these beasts………..
Your wide angle shots are just breathtaking.
good use of perspective. The wide angle gives impact.I like your pics.
Good old warbird chopper put to good use. Nice shot. – Ted
Wow great shot mate, love the detail.
Thanks again. This was the first day of it’s launch in Sydney in 2008/2009.
