Wow, amazing atmosphere. It always amazes me how these guys (and gals) go and do this kind of thing, great shot, thanks :)

  • Dean Symons replied

You should try carrying a camera on top of the gear we already have with us! ;)

  • Rob Davies

    Rob Davies

lol, aye it’s tricky enough carrying a camera with combat gear, pistols, and an assault rifle lol, worth it tho :D (umm, should explain it’s an Airsoft thing, I’m not rambo or anything like that lol)

What a brilliant shot Dean – the best firefighter shot I’ve seen. Could you please include in the descriptor the category of person you sold it to eg. RB mystery buyer, at an artshow, etc.

Very nice. Makes me want to fish out and upload some shots I took after Black Saturday while on a Thermal Camera crew. Some of the places I went were already black and white images without using the camera.

Hats off to you however, you really caught that eerie feeling some fires give off.

  • Dean Symons replied

DJ, would be interested to see them!

    Cheers for the comment.

This lighting is amazing! Truely exceptional and professional quality work as good as any pro journalist photography out there!! – Fabulous job, indeed!! – Kent

  • Dean Symons replied

Thanks Kent! All about being in the “wrong place” at the right time for me. It’s a royal pain in the arse carrying around camera gear on top of my fires gear, but results like this make it worth it. ;)

Uploaded two of them. What sort of camera do you use at the fires? Myself I only have a Canon 40D, so it’s normally left in the truck while i do the work.

Ah, cool. I thought you meant you had actual thermal photos of the fireground! heh.

    Nice shots none the less!
