This padlock is sitting with hundreds of others attached to the Sea Cliff Bridge, 60km south of Sydney. Many locks are celebrating wedding anniversaries, some are tributes to those that are no longer with us…..this one is no a celebration or tribute, it is a question of unanswered love….time and the salt spray is slowly replying.
Apparently it follows a tradition from Riga, Latvia. The bridge into the Old Town is covered with locks from newly weds. The first couple put theirs on the bridge the same day it was opened to the public to walk acrossin June 2006, it was their 40th year together!
