Wild by Dean Cunningham

Dingo at an Outback Station, Northern Territory, Australia.

Taken with Canon EOS550D. EFS 55-250mm Lens.

This Dingo is sort of a pet as he has been cared for by the owner for 15 years.

The Dingo is a free-roaming wild dog unique to the continent of Australia, mainly found in the outback. Its original ancestors are thought to have arrived with one of the waves of human settlement thousands of years ago, when dogs were still relatively undomesticated and closer to their wild Asian grey wolf parent species.

That’s one very sad looking dingo, Dean. Having seen them in the wild and at a local sanctuary (admittedly in large pens), these dogs are not meant to live on the end of a chain!!! This dogs’ captor is not doing him/her the power of good. Not with the eye in that condition! Having said that, it’s a sympathetic portrait. Is Very Strange the name – or is the name very strange? :)george

  • hi george, yeah u got me thinking. maybe i have erred in putting this picture up. in any case i have adjusted some of the text.

OMG where did you go? Wolf Creek?
    Difficult to comprehend some people.
Unfortunately when you hang around the internet too long you know only too well how many people are out there lacking the best of human qualities.
Meeting them in real life can hit you for a six. :(
Dean, it’s a wonderful image regardless. Without even knowing any info it is a moving image and makes me sad.
Not all good images are happy pics.
Don’t take it down… it is real life xx

  • haha maree god i hate that movie … being a long time back packer. i only made it half way through then i turned it off. anyway i was just about to delete it when i saw ur message. georges words got to me a bit, because me being here on RB is all about the fun. anyway you make a decent & valid point for the other side of the coin and i will leave it for now. and yes his/her name is Azaria which is just another twist, crazy !

You are welcome to remove my comments if you prefer not to put the Azaria thing out there.
