View of Gokyo Lakes from Gokyo Ri, Sagarmatha National Park, Nepal.
After leaving our teahouse at 3.00am this was the view we received when we reached the top of Gokyo Ri (5357m). It was a tough 3hr slog uphill but well worth it. Gokyo village is based at the lake and Cholatse (6501m) and Tawoche Peak (6542m) are the largest peaks in this image.
It’s breathtaking… and I bet after that hike you would having been taking quite a few BIG breaths! Beautiful!
i wasnt very popular actually as the first thing i did was sit down and light a ciggie … i still remember the glares. oh well thats my way of winding down after a challenge haha – thanks maree !
Are you a photographer who climbs mountains or a mountaineer who takes photographs………………….either way I am impressed Dean……………….I get dizzy at the stop of the stairs……………………lol…………………………Joyce!!
im just like you joyce, a bit of a traveller who loves to see the sights. i suffer from bad vertigo so im no mountain climber, as long as i cant see the edge im fine though haha ! so travelling first, photography 2nd, hiking 3rd lol !
