Dear “helmetheads”; when the sky is dark you can leave the shutter open and wait for lightning flashes. I recommend a tripod, but this photo was taken from the deck of a ship on a rolling sea. As you say; this photo took a lot of clicking….about an hours worth of 30 second images to capture the flashes of lightning. Good luck, Dean
