Train passing the Marksburg Castle, Germany. by

Train passing the Marksburg Castle in the Middle Rhine Valley, one of the busiest railway routes in the world. Also a UNESCO world heritage beauty spot.
The castle, towering on a high crag above Braubach, is the only fully preserved mediaeval fortress on the rhine river.

People tell me I should take pictures which sell, but I feel I would be selling my soul. Instead I keep on taking the pictures which I enjoy taking. I will probably never get rich from photography, or even make a decent living from it, but at least I will have left authentic images which might just be of of interest to someone after I have gone!

    Nice scenic shot David.

The BBC have a series of programmes on Germany at the moment. Look on the BBC i-player. One available already is on the Rhine.

  • Thanks for the tip Richard, have tried it but it “is not available in my area”, probably a licensing issue!
