CG14 Covent Garden Beer Festival, London, 1975. by

The Covent Garden Beer festival took place in 1975 and was a forerunner to the Camra Great British Beer festival. These shots were made at a weekday lunchtime session, and were taken using High Speed Ektachrome film in an Olympus OM1.
No technical or artistic masterpieces, ….just a record of times gone by!

People tell me I should take pictures which sell, but I feel I would be selling my soul. Instead I keep on taking the pictures which I enjoy taking. I will probably never get rich from photography, or even make a decent living from it, but at least I will have left authentic images which might just be of of interest to someone after I have gone!

You were doing fine until you showed the Brains sign. My recollection of Brains, drunk while at internationals in Cardiff, is that it was beyond revolting!

  • Probably the keg version, or badly kept! I always found the advertising slogan good, “Its Brains you want” LOL!
