Timber Framed houses, Melsungen, Germany, 1980s. by

Melsungen is a small climatic spa in the Schwalm-Eder district in northern Hesse, Germany.
Historical records of the town date from 802, but it was likely settled much earlier, during the Hallstatt period (9th to 4th centuries BC.)

Captured on film with an Olympus OM1.

People tell me I should take pictures which sell, but I feel I would be selling my soul. Instead I keep on taking the pictures which I enjoy taking. I will probably never get rich from photography, or even make a decent living from it, but at least I will have left authentic images which might just be of of interest to someone after I have gone!

Looks like places I have visited in Germany – especially the former Eastern side.

  • Yes, this is very near to the former border and taken almost 30 years ago!

Lovely, David. Looks a lot like Linz am Rhein, in fact like many other German towns and villages.

  • Yes, David. There are a hell of a lot of similar buildings in Germany, with sometimes only subtle regional differences.
