A highlight in the history of the Bochum railway museum was the large vehicle show put on in 1985 as part of the 150th anniversary of the German railways.

This strange looking locomotive No.98 307 was built in the early years of the 20th Century and designed for one man operation, using a sophisticated semi-automatic stoking mechanism. It was used mainly to haul light trains on short branch lines. It remained in service until 1963.

People tell me I should take pictures which sell, but I feel I would be selling my soul. Instead I keep on taking the pictures which I enjoy taking. I will probably never get rich from photography, or even make a decent living from it, but at least I will have left authentic images which might just be of of interest to someone after I have gone!
