Spiral staircase in lighthouse, looking up, France. by

The Phare d’Eckmühl, also known as Point Penmarc’h Light or Saint-Pierre Light, is an active lighthouse in Penmarc’h, Finistère department, Brittany, France. At a height of 213 feet (65 m) it is one of the tallest lighthouses in the world. It is located at the port of Saint-Pierre, on Point Penmarc’h, on the southwestern corner of Finistère and the northwestern entrance to the Bay of Biscay.
I made this capture in the West of Brittany in France about 25 years ago (ca. 1985).

People tell me I should take pictures which sell, but I feel I would be selling my soul. Instead I keep on taking the pictures which I enjoy taking. I will probably never get rich from photography, or even make a decent living from it, but at least I will have left authentic images which might just be of of interest to someone after I have gone!

very fine capture indeed! love the geometry.

  • Thanks, it was a lucky one as it had to be a long exposure and I did not have a tripod with me. I decided to lay the camera on the floor, using the self timer, ….it worked!
