Naze Sunrise

Naze Sunrise

So there I was, walking down the steps to the seafront at Walton-On-The-Naze in Essex at 7.15am on a Thursday morning, the wind howling in my face, the temperature around 4 degrees, thinking to myself, “what…the…hell…am…I…doing…here?

I was just about ready to pack up and return home, when the sun very kindly decided to peek his head out the curtain of clouds and bathe the sea in warm(ish) sunlight.

Like the lovely low angle Dan and the light on the rocks is sublime. The water movement is spot on and love how it swirls around the rocks

  • Dan Biggins replied

Thanks Stuart – I’d literally started to pack up when the sun came out, triggering a mad scramble to set the tripod and camera up again…! Thanks for commenting.

This is fantatstic Dan! Bet you are glad that you stuck around to get this! The light is stunning… I love the bit of warm light reflected on the sea and rocks at the base of shot and the swirling water is wonderful. Brilliant composition with the breakwater directing you to the sunlight… an instant favourite.

Thanks Paul – I was that close to packing up when the sun peeked through the clouds, and felt thankful as not much was inspiring me up until that point! Really glad you like it and thanks for “faving” it too.

Very nicely done….no pain no gain eh!...worth the cold and wind….good composition and the sunshine is the icing.

  • Dan Biggins replied

Thanks Lorraine…I questioned my sanity while slowly being consumed by frostbite, but thankfully the sun came out just in the nick of time! Appreciate your comment, many thanks.
