I started photography as a way to express my view of the world and as a way to bring art to life in the best way I am able, for me the camera and the many different formats available are to me as a canvas and paintbrushes to a painter.
I take images for many reasons and enjoy exploring different types and styles of photography in an attempt to communicate to any potential audience, one of my passions is to document my surroundings and the everyday goings on in life and have been strongly influenced in this area by the works of Steve McCurry including such works as his war documentary and the indianphile series.
I also enjoy experimenting with photography in interesting ways to try and create something new exciting and different, in order to achieve these goals I experiment with lights,materials,objects,settings,filters,movement,colours,black and white ect. and learn from the failures and the triumphs at every stage in between.
I have so far enjoyed just over a year at Northbrook college studying BTEC photographic art at diploma level and learnt much in my studies to support my passion and have been given the fantastic opportunity to explore my creative side and been given the required technical knowhow to underpin this desire to succeed in my chosen media.
