WINTER IN THE FOREST

Inspired by the lovely black and white work by Tulay Cakir entitled WINTER IN THE FOREST.

Written for the lovely, crisp graphic of the same name by Tulay Cakir

Winter in the Forest
(Read in 3/4 or Waltz time. Some ‘rests’ occur, some line starts are 3’rd beat in next musical line.)

It’s Wintertime out in the Forest;
It’s Wintertime here in the Glenn.
I love the snow in the Forest,
Each time it comes ‘round again.

Skiing to visit with fam’ly,
‘Shoeing* to feed-up the stock.
In Wintertime all of the fam’ly,
Take up to bed a hot rock.

Fresh Wintertime air makes us happy,
Cold and clean air is a blast!
Christmas and snow make us happy;
Christmas both future and past.

Ask me which season is better,
I’ll have no clear answer for you:
Spring, Summertime, Fall, yes I love them,
they’re all of my favorites, too!

    She drew that one. She’s a graphics artist, and very, very good. She’s from Turkey—awesome, isn’t it?
