About 10 weeks old (19 Aug 2011), a sick baby we brought in from the outdoor feral pack.
rescue:
We knew he was sick because he didn’t run when we stepped out the door; in fact, he didn’t even get up. He was hardly breathing!
So I peeled him off the deck and he and I took a little trip to the vet. My free kitty, as always, cost a bunch to revive:
He got hydrated under his skin,
He got a free flea dose (vet loves me)
He got a tube of super kitty booster stuff, which he hated and wouldn’t touch. So the indoor kittens are sharing it, and they’re getting big and fat.
When he came home, his icky eyes (had a cold) got a glop of Neosporin salve in them.
After a week and a half, Shadow’s coming out from under the bed to play with the other cats, and I finally got a good pic of him. His eyes are bright and clear, and seem to be a bright yellow.
(In the Family, as are the ‘deer in the headlights’ size and shape of them.)
His best friend outside was a siamese tom, who tried his best to take care of him. So now they both are sad without the other, but we live on a busy road, and just lost a kitty to the traffic.
Sad, but that’s life, I guess.

what a lovely kitty ! and lucky to have you as a friend indeed!
He doesn’t feel lucky yet… he’s still feral. But he’s coming around. The house cats are bringing him up, I guess. He just strolls off when he sees us instead of running for his life when he sees us.

well that is a start lol….hopefully he will settle with time…
Oh my…he is almost a spitting image of my Smokey Joe. Made me tear up a little upon seeing him. Just the blaze on the face is off. Smokey had the small ‘S’ and half mustache…
