Although in this pose, comfy on my chest, he looks like a great big, grown up kitty, he’s only 3 weeks old. (16 June 2011)
I brought him and his 2 brothers and 1 sister in at 1 week in age, knowing that if I left them in the feral community with their mom, they’d be feral, too. Mamma “Watty” will now snatch crumbs from my fingers, but is not tame enough to find a home for by any means.
So, better take the time and turn them into loving partners for humans, and find homes for them with those who will care for them.
I have had great success placing kittens with loving homes: Why! the last batch was placed with ‘us’. . . Well, we didn’t have to investigate the home, they’re charming companions to the other cats and to us “adults”…. But this little batch has to go to somebody else. 13 cats in the house would be unlucky in more than one way!
So, my dears, meet this sweet little character, van Dyke, named for his mustachios and chin beard, obviously. He’s already a good boy, paper trained and demanding of human company. I’ll ship him to you if you can pay half his fare! He will be an ‘altered male’, and have his first rabies shot.
Oh, do I hear the crew peeping and squealing for yet another meal? BRB in about half an hour after yet another Feeding Frenzy!
