Jacki was a feral kitty, one of the group that we feed by the house. She sort of rescued herself, though:
One day, she decided to stomp into the house and check out the ‘other side’. She found the food bowl, which she’s never really left, checked the 5 cats in the house, and asked to go back out.
The next day, she did the same.
The third day, she was convinced to become a house.cat. After dining, she trotted into the back bedroom, introduced herself to her new human ‘Daddy’, and flopped down on him to share a nap.
She’s a sister and/or cousin to the three younger kittens I nabbed and brought in, and plays with them as if she weren’t really fat, and an entire, whole year old now! (Mar 2011)
