Tucker tucks into the grub on a windy day. This is the man of the house. He and his Mrs. had 6 strapping youngsters, and it was great fun to watch them play on the tree and under it.

He really is- I didn’t know he had golden eyes until the sun caught it right and camera’s close-up brought that eye in. Thanks, I didn’t have time to fiddle with it to get the shot.

I hope your wee friend comes back, too. Mine had a mouse move into the family’s buttery, down there in the split of the roots, so he dug up the mouse’s house and took all his food back!

Not wanting to lose a finger, I haven’t petted him quite yet. . . but I do hope to be able to feed him from my hand before summer is out.

he is cute! I had to look at your profile to work out he is an american squirrel … so they hang around houses? in Aus we have possums that hang around the hose and take food we put put …

Hi, Helen- I probably should have mentioned “US” there. At least you have some kind of little rascally critter to get into birdseed and generally cause havoc. My mother in law used to have a ‘possom that scratched on the window to be let in, just like her cats did. She never let him in, but he never gave up hope, either. He was really cute, too.
