I painted billboards in Times Square, swinging on a scaffold 25 stories up, frozen to the ropes in winter, suffering mightily for art. Between that an a lifetime of unheated studios, I know whereof you speak.

One must suffer a little. That’s for sure Mike. It’s the windchill that gets you. I remember when I was up in northern Norway a few years back (army service). We experienced above -40 degrees Celsius windchills. Pretty menacing temperatures.

Here you have a lovely perspective and fantastic shadows. It’s the shadows I really like in this one and the way they create lines into the frame towards the sun. Just excellent light conditions.

Besides the great color and shadows, the bits of puffy snow added some detailed tracery and the 5 or 6 tree stumps are all bending the same direction and all say Nice Composition! In southern NM we have one or two days a year with that amount of snow and you have to hustle to record it. Thanks for braving the elements for giving us a brilliant picture.
