This photo was taken in the Ruby M. Mize Azalea Garden in Nacogdoches, Texas. Its a project of Stephen F. Austin University & The SFA gardens with assistance from nursery men from across the South & the city of Nacogdoches. This garden is so beautiful during the blooming season but it’s also gorgeous in the Fall with all the colors of Autumn. It’s an 8 acre garden built between 1997 & 2001 & situated in a shady loblolly pine forest. The garden showcases plants that thrive in the acidic, sandy loam soil of the LaNana Creek floodplain.
