Growing Pains

I joined the last week in January and I have found such wonderful people and such talent, it really is like traveling the world in 80 mins, I have learnt so much in the short time I have been here. I have sat back and got to know many fine artists and get really sad to see some disapointment with no sales, from so many talented artists and feel quite guilty that I have indeed been lucky to have a few, I feel that RB is such a new site that its a growing process for us all, a lot of the sales are in house, but I do beleive this will change in the future as RB gets more and more recognition, but remember RB has to grow and expand too, to be able to cope, and the quality of what they are doing is just outstanding, We have to remember this, this site is free and gets all us artists recognition, whether its showing people our pages on the outside and all the lovely comments we get, and thats priceless or to the people who love our work on the inside, as it grows so will we and hopefully our sales will grow too. We are all chasing a star, who knows if that next picture we upload is the one that brings us that star.

So chin up I say and pop another picture up, but for me I think the tees can wait a while hee hee LOL LOL Dawnxx

thanks so much, i have listened and chatted a lot since joining rb and over this short period of time I have seen people become so upset not to have sales, and i tried to comfort the best I could, but how could I when I am one of the lucky few who have sold 23 items, it felt like I was a hippocrite, but I truely believe this site will gow, thats what keeps me here, dawn

I think for those of us with no sales, we have to remember that we are all artists here trying to sell our work. I love the work of others and please forgive me but I probably will buy few pieces of work that I could do myself. A tshirt or something artsy that is not in my realm of design maybe, but not until I establish myself. (in my town that is). So, I feel that if we are saddened a tiny bit, then that could be normal, but if we are truly offended then we need to rethink our line of work. :)

well the way i see it, is that you can go to your town and show these lovely comments you are already getting, thats what i am going to do, but i am so new as all this that i want to earn my spots so to speak dawn

I agree Dawn. I am getting more and more confident in my abilities. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to sell and sell and sell some more, but I believe it will come in time. :)

thats the best way to think, i have been luckier than most on rb and sold 23 items, but in real cash that £14.70p sterling, dawn

But I will still put up work as I learn and I still have the originals here so its a double benifit, if they sell here they sell, but they are not going to make me a fortune lol yet dawn

You go girl!! I haven’t been on very long (2 months?) but I did buy one of my cards to see the quality and it was fabulous! I will probably buy some prints to show off and sell. I don’t believe I will make a fortune either, but I want to be more than a hobbyist. LOL

you are VERY right dawndavies. which is a major reason why i make the redbubble vids.
    technology
    and
    black and white
send these vids to everyone and anyone you know in your email, facebook, myspace pages. why? they will join redbubble and are potentially customers.
    :)
    good write up.

thank you so much, at the moment i am struggling with learning all this new stuff on a pc lol, i an old pc dummy lol be sure though i will learn and pass on redbubble to all, I have even contacted them to say when they post stuff out they includ a little redbubble card, if they made this a car sticker that would get them more regognition, but i wonder too could they cope with so much extra, i think they would be able to in the future but now, i just dont know, lol i am still trying to figure out how to show a card on my pages hee hee waiting for the kids to come and show me how dawn

aah yes, stickers ive suggested before, as well as those iron on decals you can put on bags and jackets etc.

then i suggested… SHOES ! yup. standard converse type shoes, with a canvas type cover, which the artist can design for. instant success methinks.
and badges. i like a good badge myself.

oh and then you could get one of the many redbubble type tshirts that are around. i know stephen mitchell has a few good ones..
and ive got a parody -type one. an insiders joke for those who want to be recognised as a redbubble member, but confuse those who know nothing ..
    incredibubble

    :)

dawndavies in reply to MuscularTeeth’s comment, 2 months ago

yes if they could do like Zazzle.com does then they would fly, zazzel has loads of items for artists work to go on, but to get around the site is crap, not like Rb thats far better and i love the incredibubble top lol dawn

RB only gets recognition from OUR promotion, our work only sells from OUR promotion. our sales only go up when we buy OUR own work … and onsell. Don’t sit back and ‘wait’ ... Be Proactive. Promote and sell, promote and sell.
    End rant.

yes that too just like I said, but you can go to buyers and show this site off and all those priceless comments which has a knock on effect, i have and now a shop has asked me to maybe do a few for them, i would not say rant, encouragement dawn
