Great shot, what was he looking at so intently ?
Jonathan van Beek
Very striking shot- well done Jon.

This I love – the bold black and white stripes against the soft colour of the grasses, a very striking image, lovely DoF as well – well done :-)

When you see such a striking image such as this, it’s hard to believe they have stripes to help them camouflague!
Jon Dawes
Apparently, the stripes aren’t so much for camouflage but confusion. When a group of Zebra run together, the predators can’t focus on a single animal very well to bring it down. Having seen them running in a group I can believe it, but I’m not sure what the current informed opinion of the scientists and whatnot is!
Thanks all for the comments!

Superb shot!

The contrast and composition are just right in this shot – really well done! I also like how the zebra’s legs and underside ‘transition’ into the wheat-coloured grass

I saw this printed, and is looks amazing! Great stuff!

Hi Jon
I love this photo – you have captured the animal so beautifully. Great composition. It looks ready to run – well certainly alert at least to whatever made it prick it’s ears up like that.. You have inspired me to upload my favourite zebra photo from the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania.

This is a great shot! The composition is really great. I love the contrast between the bw zebra and the grass! Great image!
