Thanks Mel & Celia. Great to get feedback as always. Blue & red are a favourite combination of mine. I’m into abstraction so I wanted this to be ‘blocks’ of colour.
I can not name why, but I really like this. Its one of those rare images that looks just as good small (thumbnail) as it does in the larger view..:) I think I like the “implied-ness” of the bird…something like that, against the simple blocks of colour.
Exceptional work Davoid. I love the use of noise in the blue. It makes the image a wonderful cross between illustration and photography. Great graphic quality.
Thanks Melinda. I had to go look at the original picture to see what I did. I couldn’t remember if I added noise or not. I did…I think I wanted some texture to break up the flat solid shapes.
re: illustration/photography I was trying to create a bold graphic from a photo as I love graphics.
Hey Linda. Thanks for the comments. Its nice to hear from people. I’m glad you like it. Actually the blue lightening toward the right (or gradient as its also know) is the actual sky. This image is based on a photo and it was late afternoon I think.
Thanks Deborah. Red/blue is favourite combination of mine. Blood red with medium dark blue. Its hard to describe colours…anyway you get the picture,...no pun intended.

Thanks Jessica. I’m a big fan of negative/positive space optical art. I wanted this to be bold by being simple.
