Wave Steps
This artwork was created by making a rounded step shape and then duplicating it once at a diagonal offset. I then reduced the opacity to 25% and grouped them. Then I duplicated them repeated at the same diagonal offset.
The overlapping of the partially transparent shapes created the other tones/colours and the apparent shapes.
I then cropped it to a square. This could be used to create a seamless larger pattern.
If you tilt your head to the right 45 degrees you can do that MagicEye thing…

Lovely wave and gentle undulation here and avoids the irritating strobe. Really cool Davoid. I used to generate fabric prints that had to have seamless joins for ‘Yardage Prints’ again not as easy as it might sound.
Bravo!

Thanks Lisa.
Yeah I love patterns. When I first started on Photoshop 2.5 back in ‘94 I was doing seamless patterns. Its cool that you actually made fabric prints.

very trippy, Davoid
it jumps and reshuffles as you scroll down
kinda loving scrolling up and down here!!!!
davoid
Trippy is right. I’m a tripper from way back.
Did you try the ‘MagicEye’ technique as mentioned in the description?
animo
great pattern – there so many ways to look at this. very trippy, but too much scrolling up and down is giving me nausea!
davoid
Sorry ‘bout that! haha. Nausea has been a visitor of mine over the years…not a nice house guest.
