Impossible to fathom

Composition Details
The face was extracted and placed onto a black background and transformed to increase the width.
A photograph of a rhododendron bush was layered below the face and the blend mode changed to Vivid Light.
I constructed a sun image, layered it below the face and changed the blend mode to Linear Dodge.
