"My love" For my friend Miss C
A mothers worst fear.
For my friend on RB Miss Carlotta Peacock who asked me to come up with a poem for her flower so here you go my friend!
As we sat and watched our young one go it felt like yesterday that I held him in my arms!
Here he was all packed for college to start a brand new day.
I stood with tears as he packed his car and gave me one last hug!
As he looked me in the eyes so deep all I could feel was mother love!
I tried to hold the tears back and act like I was grown.
But deep inside I was dying as I watched my son leave home!
My son my world my everything was leaving me at last!
I thought I was ready for this day but my heart was sinking fast.
I held him in my sobbing arms and kissed him one more time.
As he said hey mom its just down the road its just 6 hours away!
I knew this was a chance for him to spread his wings and fly.
Without this mother hens watchful eye always there to guide my prize.
So now he’s out into the world with out my ever watch, and oh my God
what will I do with out him in the house?
It’s me that needs someone to care for after being there for him.
And now that I am on the very tip of being all alone.
I had wished this day would finally come and now its my worst nightmare.
And as I stand in this long cold driveway looking at my proud son.
As he sets off to start a brand new chapter in his fine young life.
I wish that all the struggles and all the ugly fights that just this once we could start all over and do them all again!

I remember that day my son went off to college to live at the dorm … I gave him a gift. Just as I pulled into the long drive that led to the campus I pulled over, stopped the car and gave him his gift. He opened it and when he saw what was inside he laughed. He said, “You cut off your ties!” “No ”... I said … “I gave you my apron strings.” At that moment he understood and we both hugged and cried. BEST and WORST day of my life in many ways. Thank you David for this reminder.

So many mothers have gone through this. You write with an amazing empathy towards women and their outlook on life. You must have studied a lot of women !
David Roman replied
Been around a lot of women and understand their struggles and I listen to them when they cry and laugh and when they say something I make sure I hear them.
And I like them so it makes it easy to have compassion to a situation! And then I also think about what it would be like to lose my son or daughter who has been my main attention for 18 years to college and my new life now that they are going and the fear!
Anyway thats me ! Glad you like it and thanks for coming to visit me!
