You my Friend
This is not one of the flowers from my show but will be in my book.
You again back this morning looking still the same.
I wonder where my youth has gone and left me with this man.
You stumble in as if we’re friends, but your no friend of mine.
Just one more sad reminder of what is left behind.
I look at you so worn and torn.
From miles and miles of stress.
And here you are again my unwanted friend to face me once again.
You come this morning bringing gifts a smile to comfort me.
But underneath all that show your love for me is hate
I know your hate for me is strong you show it in each new line.
For on your face is what I am a man who’s time has gone.
I struggle to make contact, with your hateful eyes, that stare at me this morn.
Looking deep into my face reminding me each day, of the goals you set for me, when we were so young.
I see you settle on my eyes so tired from all the pain.
Of trudging through this world each day with out one moments rest!
I see the look that your showing me of hate and such contempt.
I know I’ve failed you a thousand times but this is what I am!
I reach inside to find a man who’s goal is set to stone.
But I am just a mortal man who’s fallen many times.
But because of this you look on me with such disgust it shames me to my core!
I see that I have failed to be the man… that I had hoped my life to be.
And you my hated inner self are there each day to curse me with your smile.
Your time and mine are soon to end I’ll settle for that prize.
For I know soon that you will no longer greet me in the morn.
With damning eyes that cut to my bone, reminding me that I am weak.
I’ll take that prize to my grave!
And cheer!
No more of you!
My mortal soul is lost for good…... along with you its hated twin.

Its not about hate of what they have become but the constant reminder that inside some of us is amonster there saying you didn’t get what you said you would get out of life!
Even if we are successful its there telling us we didn’t do it right!
I look at it as a drive we all have to do better.
And the struggles even if we are at the top to still want more.
And that can be a real burden for some as this poem says hes cheering to see his master dead!
But I am glad it got you thinking my friend!

Thats the struggle to just make it!

Well just a thought about fear and letting ones self down! Even in the event of success. I have a lot of friends that are driven people men and women and are very unhappy with what they have and what they have done. We all know the types and we all know the problems we have as humans falling victim to our pettiness and to our egos!This was just a thought about that struggle.One of many struggles that some of us burden ourselves with even with success.
But the poem it could be mine or anyones for that matter.
But I can say its what drives people to rise higher.
I think its human nature to want more and its human nature to ask yourself did you do the best at the end of the day.
I do!
But if I fail I don’t beat myself I just try better the next day.And if I fail again then I ask myself why and then try to do better.Thats life falling and getting up!
Well for me it is!
But in this poem this man burden will die when he does and hes well aware of its burden on him and is welcoming that release!
So thats that!

I found a story years ago,goes something like this.
An old Indian is talking with his grandson.
He tells the boy,that inside each of us ,there are two wolves.
The two wolves are in a constant battle.
One wolf is full of hatred,greed,envy and jealousy.
The other is full of love,compassion,understanding and is caring.
The grandson asks,which wolf will win ?
The old grandfather says, the one you feed.

That is so nice ! its exactly what my mother told me when I was jealous about a kid who had a nice new bike! She said I would learn to feed the proper man or she would help me find him!
She was a big help and so was her hand!LOL 2 good teachers!
