Bar, Bar, Black Sheep (Are You Very Full?)by David McMahon
This old saloon is part of Sovereign Hill in Ballarat, which is a fully functioning 19th century village from the gold rush era, as well as being a major tourist attraction.
Look carefully in the arched windows and you’ll see the reflection of the Napier Hotel on the other side of the street.
I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F6.7, 1/45 sec, ISO 400, focal length 58mm.
btw I wonder if I went through Ballarat train station when I was there? It looks like somewhere I might check out next time I am there with time to kill :-)
Definitely put Ballarat on your agenda, Ellis. It’s a beautiful city, and Lake Wendouree is stunning.
It was the lake on Google maps that caught my eye in fact! :-D The Mercure looks good. I like the corporate hotels they’re usually way better soundproofed etc :-)

Such wonderful detail David, even in the reflections!
Thank you! I tried the same shot a couple of hours later, Jordan, but the light had changed and the effect was no comparable.

Darn, if only you had got the 3rd Window!! I wonder what the jackpot would have been on that?!! :-P
The jackpot, Ellis, was that I could have claimed free drinks for life! (But that would have ruined my photography!)

The lake is a visual paradise, Ellis.
