It might look like a mindless jumble of colours and shapes – but it’s not. It’s actually a series of floral objects, less than a metre or a metre or a metre and a half high, for little children to put their heads into for a photograph. Each object was a different shape and painted in different, bright colours.
This was shot at the Moomba fairground on the banks of the Yarra River here in Melbourne, in March 2010. Because I had my long lens on, I was able to find an angle lining up each object and shooting them in a tight frame creating a visual puzzle.
If you’d like to see what the figures look like when shot from a “normal” angle, just click on this visual mystery post on my blog.
I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F8, 1/180 sec, ISO 400, focal length 240mm.
