Here’s the challenge: You can write your own title for this shot. It can be funny, punny, quirky, poignant, reflective, historical, hysterical – anything you like.
All you have to do to enter is submit your title as a comment here.
Yes, you can enter as many times as you want, on as many days as you want. You can keep coming back, looking at other people’s titles and keep adding your own. The contest will close at midday (Melbourne time) on Monday.
There’s only one rule: no profanity. Have fun …. I’m throwing the gauntlet down NOW!
This image of Sponge Bob and Elmo was shot opposite Bryant Park in New York City in June 2010. The bags they hold are for coins, if you take a shot of them! As it was evening rush hour, it was quite a feat to get a shot of both of hem WITHOUT a single passer-by encroaching into the frame!
I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F6.7, 1/90 sec, ISO 200, focal length 38mm.
AND HERE ARE THE RESULTS:
In tenth place we have Lynell with ``What? No red carpet?’’
In ninth place we have CapturedByKylie with ``Elmo didn’t know which way to look when he heard someone say `Smile for the birdy’. Maybe he thought Big Bird was somewhere to be seen.’’
In eighth place we have Judi Rustage with ``After being matched on the internet dating site Bob and Elmo parted amicably, realising they had very little in common apart from big eyes.’’
In seventh place we have KensPics with ``Can anyone get this green flashlight out of my mouth … it’s stuck!!!’’
In sixth place we have Spencer Copping with ``Nightmare on Sesame Street’’.
In fifth place we have Pix-Elation with ``I’m walkin here! Auditions for the new animated version of Midnight Cowboy take on a strange and unexpected twist.’’
In fourth place we have Ranald with ``Photographic proof of the existence of St Elmo’s Square.’’
In third place we have Robyn Carter with ``Prince William and Kate Middleton give a preview of their wedding outfits.’’
In second place we have LeslieBC with ``Well, at least I carry protection, Elmo!’’
AND THE WINNER IS:
LadyFi with ``Nightmare on Elmo Street.’’
