This double contrast caught my eye at Melbourne’s Southbank – not only were the shapes purely geometrical, the colours were a perfect foil for each other.
The orange cafe umbrella was in tune with the tip of a temporary display tent, which in turn was a perfect foil for the dark facade of Hamer Hall in the background.
I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 70-300mm lens. F11, 1/750 sec, ISO 200, focal length 170mm.

Pretty darn cool!
Thank you, Paulette – it would not have worked with my standard lens (18-125) … I had to use the long lens to achieve this tight frame!

Very nice! It’s amazing what you see when you have camera in hand.
That philosophy drives us all, Leslie. It’s so true ….

A very cool shot, and the thumbnail looks quite abstract.
So glad you like it, Betty. The orange cafe umbrellas are always there, but the white “tent” was just a temporary thing and it was gone a day later!

David, you’ve done it again… absolutely remarkable!
My thanks for your generous comment. So glad this unusual shot caught your eye.

Very nice, I love the 3-colour geometry in this – and in thumbnail it looks really intriguing :-)
Wonderful to know you found the thumbnail intriguing – and that the depth of field suggested a 3D effect to you. Many thanks!
