This historic vessel hasn’t seen high water for many years. This is the bow of the sternwheeler “Keno”, now on public display at Dawson City, in Canada’s gold rush region of the Yukon.
Not only can you see the rivets in this image, you can also see the narrow black Plimsoll line as well as the depth markers in Roman numerals.
I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F13, 1/250 sec, ISO 200, focal length 34mm.
This was the day after I met you at YVR airport, Leslie – arrived in Dawson just before 7pm. Dumped my bag in the hotel and walked straight out with my cameras!

Interesting capture and prose. Lovely to see it preserved. Inspired title too David :)
It is really well preserved, Judi, as is the S.S. Klondike in Whitehorse.

It almost has a leather look to it.

What an abstract! Looks like a piece of modern architecture as well.
Glad you like it, Ranald. The second thought never occurred to me, but now that you mention it ….

Many thanks, Lisa. It was irresistible, especially against the dark wood of the platform on which it rests.
