This farmer wearing a broad-brimmed Akubra told me his name was “Bundy”. He and several others were in Melbourne in 2007 to promote the Deniliquin Ute Muster.

I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F8, 1/350 sec, ISO 200, focal length 78mm.

Ah, so that’s what an akubra is! Just finished reading Bryce Courtney’s “The Story of Danny Dunn,” which takes place in Sydney and they mention this type of hat. Now I know what it actually looks like. :D

  • I haven’t actually read that novel, Leslie – but it’s on my list!

Looks like he is well travelled by the number of attachments. Nice portrait David :)

  • Thanks very much, Judi – his ute was in good shape, too.
