I could be jumping in the deep end a bit here but i was wondering if it would be a statue of an Indian lady in a beautiful Sari/dress?

  • First in, best dressed, Kylie – great thought and yes, the contours would fit your theory, but it’s not a sari. Keep going!

    Would this be a mirror?

  • Another interesting and very plausible theory. It’s not the edge or border of a mirror, no ….

My daughter is wondering if this could in fact be a section of decorative work on a bed.

  • Tell your daughter from me that she is definitely Sherlock Holmes material, Kylie. But, I hate to say it, no ….

I am thinking that maybe it is an antique statue of Santa and this is the bottom of his cape/robe.

  • G’day Robin. It certainly is an “antique” statue, but it’s not Santa …. you’ve taken a big step forward in solving this!

Is it an old antique statue of an elephant?

  • It is indeed a statuette, but no, it’s not an elephant.

A religious “icon”, an angel or somesuch.

  • Aye, squire, it is indeed a religious icon ….. another step on the right track. Not an angel, though …..

I know this is silly, but i thought i’d put this one in anyway- could it be Aladdin’s magic carpet which has crashed into a wall (hense it being squashed up at one end)?

  • The result of a bad landing? That’s very creative. No, it’s nothing to do with Aladdin!
