I shot this over the rooftops yesterday(17 August 2010) as strips of bold winter colour made an extremely brief but dramatic appearance.
The strong wind fragmented the clouds very quickly, so the solid appearance of the colour bands last only a few seconds.
I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F5.6, 1/45 sec, ISO 800, focal length 125mm.

Fantastic! Gorgeous Colors!
Thanks so much, Carol. They appeared very suddenly, and in about three minutes, there were just fragments remaining.

Perfectly beautiful David
Thank you, Shulie. One moment it was there – then it was gone, leaving only grey, leaden sky.

Love the colours, very well captured.
Thank you, Paul – they disappeared just as quickly (in very high wind conditions) as they materialised!

That is very beautiful!
Thanks very much. The strange thing is, some other photographers in the state had even more vivid colours that morning!

Thank you, Carol. One of the will-o’-the-wisp moments. It suddenly appeared, then it was g.o.n.e.. …..
