Artist's Description

Yes, it is possible to celebrate light and reflection, many hours after the sun has set.

The neon caught in the curved screens of these NYPD police motorcycles is a clear hint that this was shot in Times Square. And if you look really closely, you can see the light reflected in the chrome handlebars – and even in the visors of the helmets.

It’s always a challenge, taking night shots without a tripod – but one that really keeps you on your toes.

I guess this isn’t just a case of NYPD Blue, but really an example of NYPD pink, yellow, purple and orange as well!

I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F5.6, 1/30 sec, ISO 800, focal length 98mm.

Featured in THEME THURSDAY, FEATURE FRIDAY, June 2011.
